The vision of the American Board of Integrative Health is to be a facilitator between the patient and integrative health practitioner by addressing and promoting the patient's total health and well being.

Board Certified in Integrative Health, BCIH® Credential

AAIM's advocacy for broader treatment options facilitates a bond between integrative and Western medicine, and researchers from all specialties, so they may compare notes and combine forces, benefiting both the patient and the health care provider.

The American Association of Integrative Medicine (AAIM) offers prestigious credentialing programs: the Board Certified in Integrative Health credential.

The Board Certified in Integrative Health, BCIH®credential provides opportunities to show your clients and peers your accomplishments as an integrative healthcare practitioner. To become Board Certified in Integrative Health, BCIH, you must be qualified to deal with patients or clients in an area of traditional, alternative, or complementary healthcare.

Eligible candidates for BCIH® include but are not limited to the following:

  • Certified Mental Health Professionals
  • Herbalists
  • Homeopaths
  • Massage Therapists
  • Traditional Naturopaths unlicensed
  • Nutritionists
  • Reflexologists
  • Reiki Practitioners
  • Other practitioners of complementary and alternative healthcare modalities


  • Current certification in your specialty (if applicable)
  • Minimum of three (3) years experience in the field
  • 100 points attained on the application and take BCIH beta exam
  • Member of AAIM
