The American Association of Integrative Medicine (AAIM) offers a prestigious credentialing program: the Board Certified in Integrative Medicine credential.

The Board Certified in Integrative Medicine, BCIM® credential validates your expertise and demonstrates your continued education and dedication to the field. The BCIM credential enhances your professional status in the eyes of your clients and peers.

Eligible candidates for the BCIM® include but are not limited to the following:

  • Acupuncture
  • Chiropractors
  • Dentists
  • Licensed Mental Health
  • Professionals
  • Licensed Naturopathic Doctor
  • Optometrists
  • Osteopathic Doctor
  • Pharmacists
  • Physical Therapists
  • Physician Assistants
  • Physicians
  • Podiatrists
  • Advanced Practice
  • Nurses
    • Nurse Practitioner
    • Clinical Nurse Specialists
    • Certified Nurse Anestethetists
    • Certified Nurse Midwives
  • Other licensed professionals who practice complementary and alternative healthcare modalities


  • A minimum of a Master’s Degree (foreign degree will need to submit a US Equivalency statement)
  • Must have passed the state’s licensing criteria for licensure in the state where the candidate practices (If a license is required to practice in their field)
  • Minimum of three (3) years experience in the field
  • 150 points attained on the application and take BCIM beta exam.
  • Member of AAIM
